The launch post is a short native video of the product doing a real task end to end, with a one line hook above it. The thread underneath adds context, proof and the link. Many of the AI launches people still remember used some version of this.
Anatomy of the launch
- 1Hook line. Outcome first: what the viewer will see the product do. No brand intro.
- 2The clip. 30 to 60 seconds, captions burned in, real product footage, the result visible before second 10.
- 3Reply 1. What it is and who it is for, in plain words.
- 4Reply 2 to 4. Proof: a second clip, a benchmark, a quote from an early user.
- 5Last reply. The link and the launch perk. Links in the first post cut reach, so they go here.
When it works
- Products with a visible "wow" moment (agents, generation, automation).
- Teams that can record clean footage without staging it.
- Launches backed by creators who quote the video with their own take.
Where it breaks
- The clip is a slideshow or a talking head instead of the product.
- The result appears after second 20 and the scroll wins.
- The video oversells and replies fill with "does not work like this".
How to run it
- Pick the single task that shows the value fastest.
- Record it for real, then cut it to under 60 seconds.
- Write five hook lines and test them on people outside the team.
- Give the clip to amplifiers 48 hours early so they can prepare quotes.
- Run X ads behind the post, not a separate ad, so engagement compounds.
